Description: TANAR OF PELLUCIDAR Edgar Rice Burroughs First Edition, first printing Facsimile dust jacket covered in clear Brodart jacket cover One of four ERB 1st editions published by Metropolitan CONDITION: Book is in good condition. Front cover has some wrinkles and stains; a small indentation at top. Back cover has several small stains; some wear along edges. Spine has a little sun darkening; some wear at top and bottom and along edges. Light wear at cover edges and bumping at corners. Binding is fairly tight; hinges paper at front hinge. Some foxing or yellowing inside covers; no writing. Pages are relatively clean and straight with occasional stains; pages have age yellowing. Page edges are clean with some yellowing/foxing. The only illustration page in the 1st editions was the frontispiece -- and it is present and firmly attached. Dust Jacket is a nicely done facsimile enclosed in new Brodart protector. Photos show details of what book and jacket look like so be sure to view them. FOR COLLECTORS: Metropolitan printed this title only once (May 29, 1930); if the name "Metropolitan" is printed at the base of the spine, then it is a true first edition/first printing. That fact makes this title an easy one to identify (the unusual blue cover is another way). There was an estimated 10,000 - 15,000 print run. This is a good copy for collection.
