The eight Special Stamps feature new digital illustrations of different prehistoric species across the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods. The Miniature Sheet’s four stamps, presented in a separate carrier, celebrate 19th century fossil hunter Mary Anning’s contribution to palaeontology. The carrier includes a famous watercolour painting by geologist Henry De La Beche from 1830 imagining a prehistoric world based on Mary Anning’s discoveries.
