Description: This is quite a unique yearbook in that all the photographs in the book are actual, loose photos that have been pasted into the book! It is very much like a photo album. The yearbook is in excellent shape with a strong spine, flat boards, no loose pages. It is clean with NO inscriptions or writing. This item is accompanied by 2 pieces of ephemera; a certificate of course completion, and a program. They are both in remarkable, pristine condition. The Agnes Irwin School has a rich history dating back to its founding in 1869 by Agnes Irwin, the great-great-granddaughter of Benjamin Franklin. Initially named the West Penn Square Seminary for Young Ladies, the school was one of the first in the U.S. dedicated entirely to girls’ education. In 1881, the school moved to 2011 Delancey Place in Philadelphia. This location was significant as it marked the expansion of the school and its commitment to providing quality education for girls. The school remained at Delancey Place until 1933, when it relocated to Wynnewood, Pennsylvania, and later to its current campus in Rosemont in 1961. Today, The Agnes Irwin School continues to empower girls through a comprehensive educational experience that emphasizes intellectual and personal growth.
