Description: A Twenty book set. One of 999 sets, this being #495. Octavo. Bound in leather by Saint Dunstan Binding with gilt tooling and embossed ornaments. Includes a critical introduction by Edmund Gosse, L.L.D., Librarian to the House of Lords and a biographical preface by Robert Arnot. Decorative title pages in color. The books range from Good to Very Good, with light shelfwear, light fading to the back covers, moderate splitting to the spine of Henrietta Temple Vol. II, as shown. The spine on Henrietta Temple Vol. I is still attached but loose. Books have been cleaned with a dry cloth but are still slightly dusty, as they were in storage for a number of years. A scarce set in wonderful condition considering its age and weight. Because the books need to be packaged with care please expect a few extra handling days before they are shipped. I can upload up to six more photos if needed.
