Description: The AVENGERS #43 (1967) Marvel 1st Appearance Of Red Guardian - VG (Please read description and examine pics) Cover has stress cracks along spine particularly the area between the staples, however both staples are still shiny and well attached to the cover. As pictured, cover has some minor color breaks and very minor spotting. Also as pictured, a 2 1/2 fold at bottom right that breaks color and a minor fold in the top corner that barely does. Cover has (2) - 1/2 inch tears and (1) - 1/4 inch tear along the edge. Corners are still somewhat square with minimal blunting, demonstrating the overall integrity of the book, with some rounding of the bottom right and most wear showing at the bottom left corner. Spine is straight and intact corner to corner. Pages are mostly off white to with some light cream. Comic is in original, full color, uncleaned condition. - VG (4.0) I'm not a professional grader but offer an opinion from the grade scale that I believe best represents the books appearance. ***However, I urge you to examine the photos as they are the comic(s) you will receive and I want you to be satisfied, message with any questions. I've put some of the best I came across over the years in my personal collection, sometimes doubles or even more of special issues, some that have NEVER been read. My 80+ year old Dad recently told me "Son, ain't it about time you sold all of them toys and funny books?" (that's what really older people call comics). So I'm taking his and my wife's advice and letting go of about 75% of it. Lots of Spiderman, X-men, Wolverine, Superman, Batman and many other comics and action figures, and other odds and ends. On Grading:Most of my the comics listed are TRUE VF+ or NM, some may not be and I will say so. That may hurt sales but I figure will minimize dissatisfied buyers. I've seen NM advertised on here by some sellers that would run and hide from my VF! I collected the best I could afford to acquire on some books, very rare comics have long been HTF and pricey in high grade so listings will vary from G to NM on the grade scale and given a detailed description. I'm picky about what I collect and the condition it is in, probably just like you, if not more so. I strive to be objective and while I AM NOT a professional grader, I bring 50 years of looking at these books and literally 10,000+ of them through my hands. I am far from a novice. I use the grading scale ONLY as a guide because it is a shorthand description and understood by most serious collectors. I try to be objective and note defects in pictures and text, but grading is very subjective. DO NOT try to use my grade to submit by!! Even CGC and PCGS grades on the same book or coin can vary. Resubmissions for a better grade are common. I know guys that have submitted the same book 3 times and received different grades. Don't get me wrong, I respect the grading services and the work they do but I'm old school and I have to be able to hold even a rare comic in my (gloved) hands. Nothing against slabs, works of art should be preserved. Business Philosophy:When I started collecting, it was all just about the fun, nowadays it's become a business. That's just the way it is I reckon, so let's do a little business and I'll do my best to make it fun! If you ever have a legitimate issue with anything you purchase from Uncle Wayne's Collectibles, let me know. My name is on this thing and that matters to me. Your satisfaction matters to me. I'll do my BEST to make it right. Read my feedback. I treat every customer like the only one I have. Follow me or keep an eye out and you can probably snag some gems at decent prices. Certainly I'm trying to get something for a lifetime of collecting and while there are a ton of fine sellers on eBay, I'm not like a small few I see on here that think any comic not falling apart is Near Mint or worth a gazillion dollars because it's 40 years old. Like I said, I'm just getting started. Keep an eye out for some deals on some nice Hot Wheels and comics! WHEW! Didn't mean for this to be so long. Thanks again, have a great day and have fun collecting!Wayne
