Illustrations by W S Gilbert. Gray alligator boards with burgundy soft cloth quarter binding. Gilt title on front board and spine. Book and pages clean and binding solid. some discoloration to top back board, spine gilt faded and sunned. Some of the pages remain uncut. There are a number of editions of this collection, with variations on name of publisher and printer. I have only seen one other copy of this edition for sale online. It seems impossible to ascertain which was the true first edition as almost all have a 1932 date (as can be seen in World Cat).
