Description: A review of this book: This book is a very good overview of art deco graphic history - especially as it relates to fashion. It discussed the evolution of early art deco as an exclusive art of the rich and talks about the printing methods used such as pochoir. It then goes on to give biographies of all the major artists and publishers and rounds of with the social background - the 1925 art et decoration exhibition in Paris and the subsequent decline of the deco style as it's popularity diluted its exclusiveness. The book is fully colour illustrated with lovely images from various fashion publications and I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys art deco graphic art or fashion plates.
