Description: We are pleased to offer a pair of simple but elegant silverplated covered oval serving bowls from The Broadway. These were made by Gorham with a Q date mark which dates them to 1884. We don't know whether The Broadway refers to the theatre in New York City, the railroad line (probably not; the date mark precedes that enterprise) or another hotel that we were unable to find. If you know where they are from, please let us know! Whatever they are, they are fabulous examples of "hotel plate" with nice quality and elegant lines. We are listing other pieces of hotel, transportation and military flatware and holloware and are happy to combine shipping on multiple purchases. Please check our other items. Condition: Overall very good - there is minor plate wear in spots on the insides and minor use scratches; otherwise there is much less than the usual wear and scratches typical of hotel plate. Size: 6 7/8" x 10 1/8", 3 1/2" to tops of the finials. Please visit Hi Ho Silverplate, our ebay store, for lots of silverplate including flatware, holloware and other antiques - check out our other items!
