His career in the musical theatre really began in 1953 when he created the role of Caliph in Kismet. Kiley then returned to Broadway in the musical Redhead, for which he and co-star Gwen Verdon won Tony Awards. No Strings followed with Diahann Carroll. After taking over from Craig Stevens in Heres Love, Kiley played pitchman Sam the Shpieler in I Had A Ball. Then came the role of a lifetime. Kiley won a second Tony Award for his portrayal of Don Quixote in Man Of La Mancha. He reprised the part on several occasions, including the 1969 London revival, 2 further New York productions, and on tour. Since Man Of La Mancha, Kileys appearances in musical productions have been limited. However, he continued to appear in dramatic roles in films, the theatre, and on TV. He won an Emmy in 1984 as Paddy Cleary in The Thorn Birds, and in 1999 was inducted into The Theatre Hall of Fame. Tom Kane - Tom Kane is known for providing the voice of Darwin in The Wild Thornberrys, Jedi Master Yoda in Star Wars: The Clone Wars and several other Star Wars titles, Lord Monkey Fist in Disneys Kim Possible, Magneto in Wolverine and the X-Men, Mr. Herriman in Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends, Professor Utonium and Him in The Powerpuff Girls and Ultron in The Avengers: Earths Mightiest Heroes. Edmund Purdom - Ed enjoyed a brief and blazing moment of 50s Hollywood stardom, before withdrawing to Europe and a robust career of Italian giallo thrillers, sword-and-sandal sagas, and German Westerns. Purdom arrived on Broadway in 1951, in the vaunted company of powerhouse wedded thespians Laurence Olivier and Vivien Leigh, performing Broadway productions of Shakespeares Antony and Cleopatra and Shaws Caesar and Cleopatra. Theater-trained from an early age, he shone onstage and soon headed for Hollywood, starring in a string of lavish studio pictures, a pair of which are remembered more for the actors he replaced: Marlon Brando in the epic The Egyptian and tenor Mario Lanza in the musical The Student Prince. Following the MGM musical Athena, co-starring Debbie Reynolds and Linda Christian, Purdom top-lined 2 additional studio-misfires (The Prodigal and The Kings Thief), before retreating to Rome, where his career endured on European TV screens and films. Ben Kingsley - Ben Kingsley was born Krishna Bhanji in Scarborough, Yorkshire, England. Ben began to act in stage plays during the 1960s. He soon became a successful stage actor, and also began to have roles in films and TV. His birth name was Krishna Bhanji, but he changed his name to Ben Kingsley soon after gaining fame as a stage actor, fearing that a foreign name could hamper his acting career. Kingsley first earned international fame for his performance in Gandhi. His performance as Mahatma Gandhi earned him international fame, winning many awards, including an Oscar for Best Actor. He also won Golden Globe, BAFTA and London Film Critics Circle Awards. After acting in Gandhi, Ben was recognized as one of the finest British actors. Kingsley appeared in many other famous movies. In 1993, his performance as Itzhak Stern in the movie, Schindlers List earned him a BAFTA nomination. Schindlers List won 7 Oscars, including Best Picture. His other notable role was as Otto Frank in the TV movie Anne Frank: The Whole Story, for which he won a Screen Actors Guild Award.About the DirectorRick Ray - A former Lonely Planet backpacker turned cinematographer, writer and director, Rick Ray has produced more than twelve films on regions as diverse as Israel, Bali, Borneo, Lebanon, Ethiopia, Syria, Iceland, with titles that include Raise The Bamboo Curtain with Martin Sheen and the highly regarded The Soul of India. Beyond these projects, Ray spent two years tracking down rare archival footage of the Dalai Lamas youth, the Chinese takeover of Tibet, documented subsequent hardships, and was granted a one hour audience with His Holiness the Dalai Lama to craft his award-winning documentary titled 10 Questions for the Dalai Lama which is currently in worldwide distribution. Phil Cook - Phillip Cooke was born in Penrith, Cumbria in 1980, spending the first 18 years of his life in the Lake District. He studied composition in Durham and Manchester Universities and for a PhD with Anthony Powers at Cardiff University. He has had works played across the country by many of the countrys top choirs and ensembles. He was artistic director of the London Contemporary Music Group (LCMG) from 2004-10, and wrote five works for them. Recent works were featured in the London Festival of Contemporary Church Music, Lake District Summer Music Festival (LDSM), Tête à Tête Opera Festival, Musica Sacrae (Poland), Sound Festival (Aberdeen) and the John Armitage Memorial (JAM) concerts. Works were performed in most of the leading cathedrals and churches in the UK. The US premiere of his first set of Preces and Responses was given in July 2012 and has been performed by several choirs across the country. As of 2011 his choral works will be published by Novello, Schott and Cadenza. In 2012 he was a winner of the Musica Sacra International Composers Competition 2012 which led to performances in Poland and Lithuania and in 2016 he won the Gesualdo Six Composition Prize for his motet Judas Mercartor Pessimus. His second set of Preces and Responses (2012) was premiered on BBC Radio 3 Choral Evensong as was his organ piece Exsultet (2014). His large-scale choral/orchestral work Noahs Fire was premiered in Chester Cathedral in November 2015. A CD of his choral works performed by the Chapel Choir of Selwyn College, Cambridge and Onyx Brass was released to great acclaim on Regent Records in April 2014, and the CD of The Eternal Ecstasy (again performed by Selwyn) including his motet of the same name reached the classical charts top 10 in August 2015. He is strongly influenced by his native Lake District and by history. His main musical influences are found in continuing and reconciling a pastoral British tradition; he has written articles on the Liturgical music of James MacMillan and the canticles of Herbert Howells. He has recently co-edited a book of essays on Howells which was published by Boydell and Brewer in October 2013. He is married with two children, lives in Aberdeenshire and supports Everton. From 2007-08 he was a Career Development Fellow at the Faculty of Music, Oxford University and a Junior Research Fellow (2007-10) at The Queens College, Oxford University. He was head of composition at Eton College from 2011-12. As of January 2013, he was appointed a Lecturer in Composition at Aberdeen University. Rolf Forsberg - Rolf Forsberg was born on July 12, 1925 in Chicago, Illinois, USA. He is a writer and director, known for Parable (1964), Beyond the Next Mountain (1987) and The Late Great Planet Earth (1979).
