Description: This 1971 Stereo album from the Seraphim label of Capitol Records (S-60180) presents a collection of comic songs and dances by Beethoven. Featured performers include Anneliese Rothenberger (soprano), Nicolai Gedda (tenor) and Walter Berry (bass), accompanied in various pieces by members of the Chorus of the Bavarian State Opera (conducted by Wolfgang Baumgart), Vienna Akademie Kammerchor (conducted by Xaver Mayer), Munich Convivium Musicum (conducted by Erich Keller) and Consortium Musicum (conducted by Fritz Lehan). This record was published in the U.S. from recordings made in Europe. The album notes are in English by Karolynne Gee. A large (album-sized) insert sheet contains the lyrics in German and English, translated by Geoffrey Watkins. The album has a small hole punch near the lower right corner (see Photo 1), and shows a small collection index sticker in the upper right corner of the back.
