"FIRST EDITION" statement is clearly printed, the number line ends with "2", correct ISBN, correct jacket price etc. We've received some messages over the years inquiring as to why Random House elected to have their TRUE Firsts end with the number "2" instead of the customary, more common "1". During a certain period in their lengthy publishing history, their TRUE Firsts will have two principal First Edition Points of Issue. "First Edition" will be clearly stated and their number line will end in "2". If those two issue points are not present, then the book is NOT a TRUE First Edition/First Printing. Once again, this copy is a TRUE First Edition/First Printing! The very First Printing of the First Edition. This rare treasure has some very clearly visible wear, but is still in lovely, Highly Collectible condition! The wear, however, is considerable and should be carefully examined/considered BEFORE buying. The book appears gently read and has no internal writing, no foxing, no remainder marks, no missing or ripped pages and is NOT Ex-Libris or a BCE. The binding is tight and the pages are still surprisingly crisp and clean! Some general/shelf wear along with creases/indentations/wear to the spine/corners/cloth boards, marks/wear to the edge/fore pages and creases/wear to some of the pages, NOT affecting the text! Please note the wear to the spine/corners/cloth boards, particularly noticeable near/along the edges and the creases/wear that is present on some of the pages, varying in size and severity. The wear is very clearly visible and should be carefully examined/considered. The original dust jacket is fully intact and NOT price-clipped! Some general/shelf wear along with creases, scuffing, rips, scratches and marks. Please note the wear on the spine, at the corners and near/along the edges! The wear, particularly near/along the top and bottom edges, is VERY clearly visible and should be carefully examined/considered.
