Description: (Metaphysics) Cosper, Dr. (Bishop) Wilbert Leroy: The Cosper Extension Course: Other. Wilbert Leroy Cosper, San Francisco, CA. 1925. 1st Edition, 1st Printing. Very Good These pamphlets are tall, thin and have stapled spines. The pamplets are in generally clean, bright condition, though there are edge tears to covers, or contents. The text pages are clean and bright. "Dr. Cosper's views are supported in these lessons by scientific articles copied from the magazine section of the Sunday Examiner and we feel that great credit is due William Randolph Hearst in his efforts to present the truth to his many millions of readers. The lessons are supplimented also by articles by one of our greatest writers, Bernarr Macfadden, editor and owner of the Physical Culture Magazine, who has contributed some of his experiments and findings of many years duration concerning the medical octopus and it's unscientific methods of operation." (from the rear covers of the pamphlets). ""Bishop Wilbert Leroy Cosper, self-styled "apostle of the Divine Chemist," has issued invitations to his disciples to his "resurrection" tomorrow. The event might be more aptly termed a coming-out party, however, for it will signalize the "bishop's" release from the Contra Costa jail at Martinez. He was sent to jail from Oakland seventy-five days ago on a medical practice charge. Cosper's incarceration followed the interruption of one of his "clinics" at the home of Mrs. Otto Dietrich in Richmond. An addition to the family was expected at the Dietrich home, and Cosper and his disciples gathered there to pray for the health of the mother and child. The proceedings were said to be rather weird, and when Mr. Dietrich returned home at their height he ejected the participants and invited the police to take action. Leaders of the Christian Philosophical Institute, which went bankrupt coincident with its "bishop's" conviction, announced that they are making plans for a day of general rejoicing to mark the return of their leader. It is understood that boxing bouts, aesthetic dancing, and choral singing are scheduled on the program. . Cosper's fellow-prisoners at Martinez are already mourning his prospective departure because he has distinguished himself there, not in the role of spiritual adviser, but as jail cook."
