Description: Introducing the original Credit Card Slate®The Credit Card Slate®… is a “dry erase marker” compatible heavy-duty vinyl decal (or sticker) that is applied to any standard-sized credit card or courtesy card you might have around. It permits you to easily carry and use a slate for every scene of your productions. Once properly applied it is water and dirt-resistant and should give you many, many years of service.Cell phones and modern video cameras quickly refocus and the Credit Card Slate neatly fills a 16X9 frame. The dry-erase marker surface is easily wiped clean with a soft cloth, tissue, or paper towel and the card easily fits in a shirt pocket, camera bag, or on a lanyard promoting the easy slating of a scene even when short-crewed.Slates are helpful in the post-production phase identifying a sequence for sorting cutting and copying into folders for later processing. Slates are especially useful for identifying footage when shooting multiple scenes on the same set or shooting with multiple cameras. This helps editors effectively select sequences or clips and place the footage appropriately in a presentation's timeline. The Credit Card Slate® makes it easy to give every camera operator their own slate so you are sure your project will be easily organized in the post-production phase. As any video production professional will tell you, organized RAW or Master footage sets the tone for an effective productive, and creative post-production phase. YOUR PACKAGE INCLUDES 1 Credit Card Slate® decal BACKGROUND ON THE CLAPPERBOARD OR SLATESlates are used in film and video production to identify the production, shooting date the film roll (or memory card) scene, take, lens filter, and key personnel responsible for a given scene. In the past film slates (or just slates) were known as clapperboards composed of two parts. The main part, or data portion of the slate is so named because they were originally a piece of slate, with the identifying information about that specific scene written on the slate with school chalk for changing information such as a scene number or take.Attached to the top of the traditional film slate is a hinged clapper "stick." The “clack” sound it makes when snapped shut causes a sharp spike on the audio track, which is matched in postproduction to the precise visual frame of the stick closing. This synchronized the moving visual material with the corresponding audio recording. These days high-quality audio is recorded right along with the video in multiple channels and the so-called "Double System is not utilized as widely any longer. PLEASE NOTE:The Credit Card Slate® decals are fully compatible with standard dry-erase markers from “Expo” “Brite Erase” and other manufacturers though only Expo and Brite Erase markers were tested. “Sharpie” “Magic Marker” and other permanent style markers will not be easily removable from your Credit Card Slate® and the chemicals used will wear the surface prematurely although in some cases such as an ongoing or continuing production "standard” non-changing information can be applied with a permanent-style marker as it will not smudge or erase and will save time rewriting copy or data.
