Description: Still going strong at age 92, photographer Duane Michals is poetic and his lens captures so much beauty, and emotion, and all the aspects of the human spirit. This book appeared in 1997 and is as relevant today. His use of black and white photography is magical and how he blends the pictures with a delicious text. There is so much in here, his appreciation of the male nude, and many diverse subjects, and his celebrity portraits are great. (De Kooning, Tennessee Williams, Geoffrey Beene, and others) He began with an interest in becoming a graphic designer, and found his way to the world of photography. He photographed the 1968 Olympics in Mexico. He worked on films such as "The Great Gatsby" for Vogue. He has had many gallery exhibitions. Seemingly a man with great sensitivity, and genius in how he sees through that lens. Book is in good condition with some wear to the dust jacket. The interior is good. I always pack very carefully in a BOX, using tons of Bubble Wrap. I secure the book in place, with the hopes that it reaches you in the exact condition it left me in.
