In order for a mint record to be considered mint by Goldmine standards, it can not ever be played, therefore, a mint record cannot be play graded.[MINT- (M-) or NEAR MINT(NM)] Sealed or Opened. Can be played once or un-played. There should be no surface noise whatsoever.[VERY GOOD + (VG+)] Has minor surface noise that does not overpower the music. Will mostly be noticeable in soft passages or in the intro and outro of a disc. Has few or no cosmetic flaws. [VERY GOOD (VG)] Has minor surface noise that does not overpower the music. Will mostly be noticeable in soft passages or in the intro and outro of a disc. Has cosmetic flaws such as minimal writing, minimal ring wear or other defects but not ALL at once. [VERY GOOD - (VG-)] Has significant wear and and marks and usually quite noticeable surface noise. [GOOD PLUS (G+) ] Can be played through without skipping. It will have significant surface noise, scratches, and visible groove wear. A cover or sleeve will have seam splits, especially at the bottom or on the spine. Tape, writing, ring wear, or other defects will be present. While the record will be playable without skipping, noticeable surface noise and "ticks" will almost certainly accompany the playback.[GOOD (G)] Will at best play through without skipping. It will be in rough condition and very noisy.[FAIR/POOR] Cracked, warped and or skips.
