Cool black and white, I believe, sort of film noir. I believe just the fourth season was filmed in color. Harrison Ford's blockbuster movie "The Fugitive" was based on this tv series. It had to have been the most popular tv series during the entire sixties. Everyone in the country tuned in to see the final episode in Season Four (not included here). If you are not familiar with this fine series, you'll learn to love the excitement, the careful scripts and the superior acting. Mostly new casts every week and feature the finest stars of the 60's like Suzanne Phlesette, Mickey Rooney, Robert Duvall, Jack Klugman. David Janssen stars as Dr. Richard Kimble, a Stafford Indiana pediatrician falsely convicted of the murder of his wife Helen. It is loose based on the Dr. Sam Shepard case (interesting true crime and court battle). Richard spotted a one-armed man fleeing the scene of the crime. A train wreck freed him while en route to the "Death House" accompanied by Lt. Gerard. Richard roams the US in search of the one-armed man and works a wide variety of jobs, making an impression on the people he meets. He is constantly aware of the police pursuing him but especially the obsessed Lt. Phillip Gerard menacingly played by Canadian Barry Morse. He scared the bejesus out of me when I was a kid! David Janssen is Dr. Kimble magnificently but often subtly played by the fine (handsome) David Janssen, who later starred in tv's series "Harry O". As you may surmise, I love this dramatic series above ALL others. It doesn't indicate how many episodes are included on these DVDs. I believe there are two volumes per season. Four DVDs of 15 episodes which is what it says on the blurb of the very first season, volume one. I am also going to be listing that set of DVDs but they are used and tenderly taken care of. Just ask away. The only reason I'd EVER ever sell this series is that I purchased the entire four seasons in a set recently. So I no longer need these highly collectible earlier release.
