Description: This is the first of two volumes I own that was written by Ms. Pasley. The other is The Christmas Cookie Book, also offered in my store. This book is divided into seasons and the candies are under that classification. But I am going to be honest and say my favorite thing about this book was teaching me how to overcome the humidity which can destroy a sugar syrup candy recipe completely. She gives marvelous tips on that and so much more. I am not joking when I say this book is helpful whether you have made candy for over 40 years (like me) or are a brand new candy maker. Personally, I would also say invest in a digital candy thermometer; it is SO worth it. I loved making candy with my mom, and the first thing she had me make was fondant. No-cook recipe. And fondant is perfect for dipping, and with the melting chocolate they have today, you can produce a box of chocolates easily. And if the kids enjoy messing, there is nothing better than making popcorn balls for the tree. (I still remember how much fun it was to smear butter all over my hands.) This is a well written, well thought out little book, of 123 pages packed with fun and information. NOTE: check out my Christmas Category on my store, Cookbooks Galore, for other volumes of Food Gifts and more. Discounts and coupons until the end of December.
