The House of Rothschild is a 1934 American pre-Code historical drama film directed by Alfred L. Werker and starring George Arliss, Loretta Young and Boris Karloff. It was adapted by Nunally Johnson from the play by George Hembert Westley, and chronicles the rise of the Rothschild Family of European bankers. The film was the biggest hit of the year for Twentieth Century Pictures, which had only been formed in June 1933. It was one of United Artists' most popular films of the year. It was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture. This was another huge Hollywood Premiere at Grauman's Chinese Theatre where thousands of fans lined the streets of Hollywood Boulevard to get a glimpse of the stars arriving at the theatre for the Premiere. Another long A-List of stars were in attendance for this huge Premiere. This is an elaborate program that features artwork from John Wentworth. It has a Premiere program insert with a special celebratory caption for the 1st Anniversary of 20th Century Fox along with signatures from many of the top stars of the day giving their praise and appreciation. Measures appx 9-1/2 x 12 inches with 12 interior pages. Not all pages are pictured. The program has a tear at the bottom left corner of the cover as seen in the pictures but the program is in very good condition otherwise.
