THE LAW & CLICHES OF SOCIALISM - Frederic Bastiat & Various (1964 Paperback)

Description: THE LAW & CLICHES OF SOCIALISM - Frederic Bastiat & Various (1964 Paperback) This book is based on two volumes, The Law and Cliches of Socialism. The Law has been condensed slightly by omitting some paragraphs which are not fully applicable to this age. Forty two of the 63 Cliches are included. These well illustrate and bring up to date the timeless truths stated in The Law. The Law was first published as a pamphlet in June, 1850, by Frederick Bastiat (1801-1850) a French Statesman, economist and author. He did most of his writing during the years just before-and after the Revolution of February 1848. This was a time when France was rapidly turning to complete socialism.. As a Deputy of the Legislative Assembly, Mr. Bastiat was studying and explaining each socialist fallacy as it appeared. And he explained how socialism must inevitably degenerate into communism or total government. The same socialist-communist ideas and platforms that were then adopted in France are now sweeping America. The explanations and arguments then advanced against socialism by Mr. Bastiat are- word for word- equally valid today. When a person who believes in private property, free market economics, and limited Constitutional government states his position, he is inevitably confronted with a barrage of socialistic cliches. This book contains 42 suggested answers to some of the most persistent of the "Cliches of Socialism". Some of the cliches included: #1. " The more complex the society the more government control we need" #8 "The free market ignores the poor." #13 "Human rights are more important than property rights." #26 ' I prefer security to Freedom". #31 "If government doesn't relieve distress who will?" #41 "Businessmen should work for the good of others." Everyone who wants to see our nation return to its Constitutional , free market, and Biblical foundation need to read and share the sound principles contained in these two books in one.
