Description: NUTSHELL LIBRARY by Maurice Sendak, presumed 1st edition 1962 Harper & Row Publishers This wonderful little set is in very good condition. Presumed 1st edition - but the price sticker has been removed. Without previous owner name or inscriptions. Books are in very good condition, pink boards, ONE WAS JOHNNY has the little binding threads loosening, ALLIGATORS ALL AROUND shows a small soiling to ffep,very light bumping to all spine-ends. Dust jackets are very good, showing light edge-wear - PIERRE has a loss to head of spine as can be seen in photo. Dust jackets also show light age-toning and a little light soiling. The dust jacket on CHICKEN SOUP WITH RICE does have the tiny pale yellow band to bottom of spine as cited in Hanrahan A51, meets all Hanrahan criteria for 1st edition, except to show price. Dust jackets now have little archival covers to them. Slipcase is very good- with rubbing to corners and fore-edges, top fore-edge has a chip (see photos). No splits or tears, still bright and sturdy. All have been very gently handled over the last 60 years. Please ask questions or for more pictures if needed.
