It is important that the tablet is placed on its smallest side to engage the most surface area with the blades. Center the pill between the blades. Step 2 Close the blue lid or cover the splitter with you non-dominant hand. The double blades will still create an even split point, even when the tablet extends above the splitter. Step 3 Use your dominant hand to push the metal blades together tightly, and split the pill in two. Troubleshooting Tips Unequal Halves Make sure each tablet is up on its smallest side between the blades for splitting. This will engage the most surfaces area, and give you the best cuts. Large Pills The double blades will create an even split point, even when the pill extends above the splitter. Simply place the large pill up on its side, use your hand to cover the cutter, and push the blades together. Small Pills If your pill is so tiny that it is difficult to handle, use a good pair of tweezers to center the pill between the blades.
