Description: I love maps, and maps of all different kinds. More specifically, I love creating my own maps, to represent information about countries, regions and areas that I am interested in, either socially, geographically, geopolitically or historically. The possibilities for representation are endless. I wanted to create this map because at a time when I lived abroad, I would listen to Shipping Forecast broadcast by the World Service, and it would remind me of home. I have created this map myself using digital technology, and it comes as a high quality giclée print on Hahnemuhle Pearl paper, available in standard A sizes, unframed, with or without border. My prints are printed expertly and delivered to you by various partners. In the UK and for Europe customers, this is The Print Space, London. More information on the Shipping Forecast: The Shipping Forecast is a BBC Radio broadcast of weather reports and forecasts for the seas around the coasts of the British Isles. It is produced by the Met Office and broadcast by BBC Radio 4 on behalf of the Maritime and Coastguard Agency. The waters around the British Isles are divided into 31 sea areas, also known as weather areas. There are four broadcasts per day at 00:48, 05:20, 12:01 and 17:54. The unique and distinctive presentation style of these broadcasts has led to their attracting an audience much wider than that directly interested in maritime weather conditions. The Shipping Forecast presents an excellent opportunity for artists to represent the areas via their own interpretations.
