Putnam's Sons (New York), six 4 1/2 x 7 1/8 inches tall three-fourths leather bound, leather spine and tips over gilt-ruled marbled paper-covered boards, five raised bands and gilt decoration and lettering to spines, marbled endpapers, top page edges gilt, each volume with a black-and-white frontispiece with tissue guard and at least a dozen full-page illustrations, [v.1] vi, 349; [v.2] vi, 349; [v.3] vi, 335; [v.4] vi, 341; [v.5] vi, 345; [v.6] vii, 306 pp., complete. (2,062 pages total.) Volumes 1-5 have Poe's Tales, and Volume 6 his poetry and 'The Poet's Art.' Slight to moderate soiling, rubbing, edgewear and sun-fading to covers, with bumping to the upper spine cap of Volume 3, slight chipping to the fore edges of Volumes 2 and 5 and one-inch stain and leather chips to top edge of the front board of Volume 2. Slight foxing to the blank front endpapers of Volume 1. Otherwise, a very good set - clean, bright and unmarked, all solidly bound and giving a splendid shelf appearance.
