GUNTHER PLAUT: Genesis, Exodus, Numbers, DeuteronomyBERNARD J. BAMBERGER:LeviticusWILLIAM W. HALLO:Essays on Ancient Near Eastern Literature--------------- A little bit about W. Gunther Plaut:Rabbi Plaut served as rabbi in Chicago and St. Paul, Minn. prior to joining Holy Blossom Temple as senior rabbi in 1961. He retired as senior rabbi in 1977. Of the 26 books Rabbi Plaut has published, the best known is The Torah: A Modern Commentary, of which he was the editor and chief author and which is now in its 13th printing. Rabbi Plaut has written on theology, philosophy, and history, and has produced three works of fiction. Some of his books have been translated into other languages. CONDITION & DESCRIPTION OF THE BOOK:When I purchased this book, it had several pages of notes inserted into different parts of the book and I have left them in situ, even when I was photographing the book. The first set of notes are about Exodus 9. 1 - 35. The second sets of notes are on Haftorah. Ezekiel 28:25-26 - 29:21. There are also a few smaller inserts with no notes. It seems a bit silly now that I am trying to describe the book. I felt they might be informative for the new owner. They can be removed. The boards are a wine coloured leather. It's a heavy book, weighing in at 1.745 KG's. with packaging, closer to 2KG.Boards are in a beautiful condition. The endpages front and rear are clean and seem to be made of plastic. They are grey in colour. The pages are very thin. There are a few creased pages and corner folds but other than this, the book is immaculate inside. It has been well looked after. END My Ref: 001362
