He died at age 33 from a gun shot wound from a motel manager in LA. A woman other than his wife was in the mix. Otis Redding died when he was 26 in a plane crash near Madison, Wisconsin. Four of his bandmates were also killed. Only 3 days earlier he recorded “Sittin’ On The Dock of the Bay” which became his only Number 1 pop record. IRONICALLY, SOME CALL HIM "THE KING OF SOUL!"
