Description: Up for sale is a rare signed and numbered color 16x20-inch print by noted artists Vincent Di Fate. This print shows a scene that was set up but never filmed in George Pal's classic 1953 film THE WAR OF THE WORLDS.In the original film, there is a scene showing a large world map in a war room with personnel moving little plastic markers showing the various positions of the global Martian invasion.Originally, this scene was going to use small metal war machine models. Some 200 of these model were made but never used. A single black and white publicity studio photo issued by Paramount in advance of the release of the film shows one of these models. This photo is shown in our listing. If you study the model up close you will notice that it differs from the Martian war machines designed by Al Nozaki that appear in the film.Only 40 of these prints were made and signed by the artist for the 70th anniversary of the film. Your print will be shipped rolled in a cardboard tube.Get yours before they get here and get YOU!
