An uncommon Wodehouse title, first published in Britain from March, 1905 to March, 1906 in 'The Captain' magazine and then in book form in 1907, with this edition published in 1922, one of a reputed 500. Colour frontispiece, 284 pages. Bound in the publisher's hardcover red boards, titled in black to the upper board and spine. Front cover with some creasing. Spine a little faded, a few spots, ends bumped, as are the board corners. Previous owner's details to the inner cover. Block sound, a few handling marks or light foxing spots here and there, but please note that the rear endpaper has been removed. In this novel, Sheen, a quiet and studious boy, finds himself facing a street brawl between boys of Wrykyn and a gang of local toughs. He slips away to safety, but his cowardliness is noticed by his fellows, who ostracize him.
