This original 1920 edition is a collector's item, featuring beautiful illustrations by various artists that bring the enchanting stories to life. Fraying and a 0.5cm tear at the connection between the front cover and the spine. Spine cover at the top of the book has pulled away slightly from the textblock but the bottom is intact and tight. There are no loose pages. Some slight rubbing and fraying at the bottom edge of spine. Gold tinting at top of textblock is intact with some scratch marks. Vertical and bottom of textbook are yellowed with some staining. Pages 16- 17 and 416- 417 show some separation from the textblock but are not loose. The pastedown endpaper of the front cover is missing 14 cm from the top corner. It does not interfere with the image. A 1.5 cm closed tear on the bottom of the title page. Endpapers show some paste action. Page 227 has a 3.5 cm hole that removes the T and top of the H for the title "Through Fairy Halls". There is also an indentation on the page that is near the spine and travels up the page, goes horizontally above the title and continues along the outside of the page. There are numerous indentations along the bottom of the page. In good condition for a child's book of this age. See photos for more details.
