Description: Five images of this very-generously-illustrated, 119-year-old, first edition are shown below. It is: Tibet and Nepal, Painted and Described by A. Henry Savage Landor, Published in London by A. & C. Black, 1905 first edition. This is the first printing with "Published January 1905" on the copyright page, with no other printings stated, and with the top page edge gilt. The book measures 9" x 8 1/2" and is 233 pages followed by four pages of advertisements. It is in Very Good condition with a former-owner's illustrated bookplate and 1913 signature on the front endpapers, with some foxing to the text pages immediately-adjacent to the illustrations, with some age-toning to the endpapers and map tissue-guard, and with some gentle, overall wear. The author has done 75, full-page, tissue-guarded illustrations in Fine condition; they are printed on glossy paper, which is blank on the reverse. Fifty are in color, and 25 are halftone. In addition, there is a 6" x 6 1/2", halftone, fold-out "...sketch map of Glaciers and Peaks in Nepal explored and surveyed" by the author. The outer margin edges of the map are ragged; the map itself is in Fine condition. There is no former-owner's bookplate inside, and there are no loose pages; the book will be shipped in a solid new box anywhere in the United States via USPS Media Mail for free.
