Description: This auction is for ONE TIE ROD ADAPTER necessary in order to install Ford Mustang (1967-1969 model year) front drum or disc brakes on 1965-66 vintage Ford Mustang and other similar cars' existing tie rods ends. PLEASE SPECIFY YEAR OF CAR AND ENGINE SIZE (If you need both sides you can specify a quantity of (2) during checkout.) When installing the later spindles on a classic Mustang or other similar Ford Product, there is a mismatch between the smaller tie rods of the car and the larger holes in the later spindles. These adapter bushings will allow you to install the 67-69 Mustang spindles on yor classic car WITHOUT HAVING TO CHANGE YOUR TIE ROD ENDS! These will even work on the smaller 6 cylinder Mustang tie rods, allowing you to install 67-69 Mustang spindles on the early 6 cylinder cars without the need to convert to V8 steering parts. If you have a 65-66 V8 Mustang with power steering, these are the only way to install 67-69 Mustang disc or drum brakes on your car, as the power steering tie rods are unique and nothing else will interchange. I get alot of questions about the 65-66 Mustang V8 with power steering. You CAN use a 67-69 Mustang tie rod on the passenger side, but you MUST use an adapter on the driver side. There is no stock tie rod that will work on the driver side. Should you use one 67-69 and one 65-66 Mustang tie rod with an adapter on the driver side only? YOUR CHOICE. Most opt to get two adapters and insert them in the spindles with red Loctite. That way, the adapters become a permanent part of the spindle, and when you need new tie rods at some future date, all you have to do is find a pair of MUSTANG tie rods to fit it. You won't have to remember why there are two different sized tie rods, or a future owner won't accuse you of adding the dreaded PREVIOUS OWNER SYNDROME. Adapter bushings are steel, made with precise tolerances, and are a permanent fix that will allow you to use the original tie rods.
