Description: For the Baseball Hobbyist . . . ~ 1956-1963 Artvue Hall of Fame plaque postcard ~ Thomas Francis Michael McCarthy ~ Boston Beaneaters (Braves), St. Louis Browns AA (Cardinals), Brooklyn Bridegrooms (Dodgers), Boston Reds (Union Assoc.) & Philadelphia Quakers (Phillies) ~ Type 2 (bolt holes FILLED with baseballs) ~ Artvue, for the decade 1953-1963, was the official producer of the National Baseball Hall of Fame's plaque postcards. Each card was produced in 3-1/2" by 5-1/2" size and featured the bronze plaques in black & white. Collectors have designated those cards issued 1956-63 as TYPE II. Type II cards have the bolt holes in the four corners of the plaques filled with baseballs whereas Type I cards have open bolt holes in each corner. Condition: Near-Mint/Mint - check the high-resolution scans (front and back); a burgundy background has been provided to assist in evaluating the corners and edges of this card.
