Description: Here is a very nice and rather beautiful old merchant token made of copper, in quite splendid condition overall, measuring app. 1 & 1/8" across, with a diagonally reeded edge. This attractive early Canadian piece shows just minimal wear, with only some minor imperfections nothing overly distracting, and I have not cleaned or altered its appearance in any manner, with four of the pictures having been "enhanced" for clarity. If it has ever been cleaned, I don't know, but it's possible, although I have had this token for decades as is, with its absolutely gorgeous toning on both sides. The token is identified as LC-54D2 in the Charleston reference work. The obverse pictures a superb radiant eagle facing right, with arrows and an olive branch in its talons, and "Halfpenny Token" is around the top, with the date "1815" at the bottom. The reverse pictures Britannia seated and facing left, a branch in her outstretched hand and a trident at her side, all in a clockwise wreath Excellent. $120. Please note I am always happy to combine shipping costs should you win more than one of my auctions, and I usually add just a minimal additional cost per item. Your business is sincerely appreciated!
