This volume was self-published by Martin ( Stanley Martin & Co. Ltd 2 Amen Corner, Paternoster Row, E. C. 4.). No stated publishing date (early 1900). Martin was editor of " Uncle Ben's Budget " a magazine published from 1898 -1916, and author of the following books: Brave Boys of Derry, "The Story of the Light That Never Went Out" with Augusta Cook; "Some Famous Bonfires"; "Turn or Burn"; "Fireships, Fireworks, and Firebrands"; "The Man Who Fought the Giants" [Luther]; "The Tinker of Bedford and the Book that He Wrote" [Bunyan] -- This volume is about William The Silent (also known as William I, Prince of Orange ), who lived from 1533 - 1584 and was the main leader of the Dutch when they fought against Spain in the Eighty Years War ( Dutch War of Independence) which ultimately liberated the Netherlands from Spanish rule in 1648. This hardback is in good used condition --very clean inside and out ---some spine darkening (see pic) --previous owner's name on front endsheet " Harris Postema Christmas 1930, Ruby Postema, Teacher". When book is open, there is some minor splitting of the margin in a few areas --the binding is good and tight but just be aware of this --otherwise very good clean condition of an extremely scarce title. 160 pages.
