Description: Torshalla Sweden Solid Silver Bright-cut Floral Motif Beeker Cup Sweden Hallmarked Erik Edquist Date-marked 1806 830 finePresented is a great Hand Hammered and bright-cut engraved Cup with a flared rim and a raised overlay base. It has a lovely detailed Bright-cut floral motif decoration with a flowing water design around the base. It is hallmarked on the base with full hallmarks including an assay mark of three crowns in a lobed shape for 830 fine silver or solid silver with a date mark of Z2 for silver made in Sweden in 1806 I believe to be by Erik Edquist working in the province of Torshalla between 1803 - 17. American standard sterling silver is 925 fine; so there is slightly less silver in this alloy. I have posted a picture of my research in the photos above. It is in stellar condition with only some slight bend of the top rim, a slight bent in the rim base with only a slight wobble, no monogram and only some fine scratches from gentle use and care. It is an excellent piece for the collector of fine antique silver. I have an interesting assortment of items listed so please look at my other auctions.Measure: 3 5/8” inches high, 3 ¼” inches wide across top, 1 ¾” inches wide across baseWeight: 1.5 ounces on my postal scale or 43 gramsMark: full hallmarks including an assay mark of three crowns in a lobed shape for 830 fine silver or solid silver with a date mark of Z2 wit a makers mark of EEO I believe to be for silver by Erik Edquist working in the province of Torshalla between 1803 - 17 Condition: some slight bend of the top rim, a slight bent in the rim base with only a slight wobble, no monogram and only some fine scratches from gentle use and care.
