Description: This auction is brought to you by Classic Entertainment Autographs, one of the industry's best-known and most trusted sources for authentic signed material in the field of vintage entertainment! Up for grabs is the following item: Highly rare 9x8-inch black and white portrait, showing the star in full cowboy attire peering through a stereoscope, boldly signed and inscribed in black fountain pen in the 1930s. Trimmed for framing purposes by the original collector, so that the left border is missing; otherwise, in good condition for its age. Buck Jones was one of the great "B" movie cowboys of the silent and early talkie eras, probably best known for the Rough Riders series. In 1942, the seemingly indestructible star was being honored by Monogram Pictures with a dinner at Boston's fabled Coconut Grove when the now infamous fire broke out which burned it to the ground. The conflagration consumed 492 patrons, leaving the actor, who had been trapped inside, severely injured. He died in the hospital two days later at the age of 50 and his autograph is highly elusive in any format. The high bidder is to pay $8.25 postage and handling within the United States or $13.75 overseas. New York residents must add sales tax. Thanks for looking!
