Plaques that are painted/stained/dyed are all done so by hand. Most of my pieces are “Flamed” with a propane torch to achieve the look I need. These pieces are hand made and as such, are flawed and subject to abnormalities, scuffs, gaps, bows and/or imperfections that before you purchase, must become familiar with and accept after looking at all photos I have provided before making your purchase. Also, please be aware that the types of wood I use are chosen for density and their abilities to accept carving without much splintering. Further, oil based polyurethane is the only finish I use. I use oil based for durability and sustainability of front of piece finish only. The finishes will be satin or semi-clear (gloss). This is a semi-gloss or satin finish chosen per individual piece (which if not named specifically in listing with semi or satin finish, please inquire) and/or accept chosen finish firstly through the pictures I’ve provided and/or secondly, with your purchase. Furthermore, keep in mind that the oil based polyurethane WILL make the appearance of light colored wood and light color dyes and paints turn more yellowish in appearance and the piece will take on a more yellowish hue (bringing about an aged look that I admire). I do not recommend hanging any wood plaques or other pieces outside or in direct weather.
