The official issue took place on November 21, 2024 – a day commemorating the historical events of the Orange Revolution of 2004 and the Revolution of Dignity of 2013, which forever changed modern Ukraine. The “Independence Trident” issue is based on the image of a trident and historical seals that belonged to institutions and military bodies of the Ukrainian statehood of 1918–1921. The history of the national symbol began on February 25, 1918 in Korosten, when the Small Council decided to adopt the emblem of the Kyiv State of the time of Prince Volodymyr the Saint as the coat of arms of the Ukrainian People's Republic. The drawings of the first coats of arms were made by the artist and architect Vasyl Krychevsky, laying the foundation for the use of the trident as a state symbol. In 1992, the Verkhovna Rada approved the golden trident on a blue shield as the Small State Coat of Arms of independent Ukraine. The new postal issue from Ukrposhta uses images of eight historical seals collected by the Sheremetyev Museum (Kyiv): “Seal of the Ukrainian Military Control, 1918–1920”, “Seal of the Konotop County Commandant, 1918–1919”, “Seal of the Lunynsk Voloshnaya Zemstvo Administration of Pinsk County”, 1918–1920, “Seal of the Supreme Military Court of the Kamianets-Podilskyi Garrison, 1919–1920”, “Seal of the 11th Light Artillery Brigade. Ukrainian State, 1918”, “Seal of the Embassy of the Ukrainian People’s Republic in Poland, 1920”, “Seal of the Chief of the Letychiv County Militia. UNR, 1919–1920”, “Small State Seal of the Ukrainian People’s Republic, 1918”.The stamp sheet “Tryzub Nezalezhnosti” contains 8 stamps, each of which has a face value of “U”. The designer of the postal set was Volodymyr Taran, known for his work on the design of coins, banknotes and postage stamps. The stamps use the embossing technology. The redemption with the “First Day” postmark took place in Kyiv on November 21, 2024.
