Description: This is a truly vintage rosary. 7-decades rosary/81 beads. Art Deco Era. Art Deco appeared in Paris in the 1910s. It flourished in America in about the 1920s thru the early 1930s. FRANCE. ART DECO ERA. EARLY 1900S COMPOSITE. 7 DECADES/81 BEADS. You will receive the exact rosary pictured. The beads are truly vintage, early 1900s composite. The rosary has 7 decades/81 beads total. The beads are oval shape, about 7mm. The pater beads are round, carved with a floral-pattern, also about 7mm. Each bead has a protective ring, top and bottom. 100% of the rings are present. The centerpiece is Art Deco Era, Virgin Mary on front, Sacred Flaming Heart of Jesus on reverse. There is a maker's mark on front, along the lower edge of Mary's head shawl. It appears to be an upside-down crown, but it is difficult to see. I do not recognize it. There is a photograph of this mark. FRANCE is marked on reverse. The crucifix is wood inlay, set inside a nickel frame. There are no marks on the crucifix indicating the country of origin. The crucifix measures a little over 2". The connective chain is rectangle/oval link. There is an aluminum medal attached just above the crucifix. It is St. Francis De Assisio O.P.N. on front, St. Antoni De Padua O.P.N. on reverse. FRANCE is marked on front. The medal is about the size of a 25ยข piece/a quarter. The rosary's overall length is 30". The rosary weighs 42.0 grams. This rosary is nicely crafted with medium gauge connective chain, rectangle/oval links. It is crafted to last. I would judge this rosary to be circa early 1900s, perhaps 100 years in age. The rosary is in excellent to very good vintage condition. It is 100% complete with all the original vintage composite beads. It appears to have never undergone repair or replacement. The rosary is fully intact. This rosary has aged nicely. The details on the centerpiece front and reverse are excellent. The crucifix has minimal softening of details. The wood inlay is fully intact.
