WE ARE LOWERING THE PRICE TO COMBAT THE CHEAP COPIESThe General Dynamics (now Lockheed Martin) F-16 Fighting Falcon is a single-engine multirole fighter aircraft originally developed by General Dynamics for the United States Air Force (USAF). Designed as anair superiority day fighter, it evolved into a successful all-weather multirole aircraft. Over 4,500 aircraft have been built since production was approved in 1976. Although no longer being purchased by the U.S. Air Force, improved versions are still being built for export customers. In 1993, General Dynamics sold its aircraft manufacturing business to the Lockheed Corporation, which in turn became part of Lockheed Martinafter a 1995 merger with Martin Marietta. The Fighting Falcon has key features including a frameless bubble canopy for better visibility, side-mounted control stick to ease control while maneuvering, a seat reclined 30 degrees to reduce the effect of g-forces on the pilot, and the first use of a relaxed static stability/fly-by-wire flight control system which helps to make it a nimble aircraft. The F-16 has an internal M61 Vulcan cannon and 11 locations for mounting weapons and other mission equipment. The F-16's official name is "Fighting Falcon", but "Viper" is commonly used by its pilots, due to a perceived resemblance to a viper snake as well as the Battlestar Galactica Colonial Viper starfighter. In addition to active duty U.S. Air Force, Air Force Reserve Command, and Air National Guard units, the aircraft is also used by the USAF aerial demonstration team, the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, and as an adversary/aggressor aircraft by the United States Navy. The F-16 has also been procured to serve in the air forces of 25 other nations. The Ukrainian Air Force (Ukrainian: Повітряні сили Збройних сил України, romanized: Povitriyani syly Zbroiynyh syl Ukraiyini, PS ZSU) is the air force of Ukraine and one of the five branches of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The main inventory of the air force still consists of Soviet-made aircraft, but pilots are training to fly the F-16. When the Soviet Union dissolved in 1991, many aircraft were left in Ukrainian territory. After Ukrainian independence in 1991, the air force suffered from chronic under-investment, leading to the bulk of its inventory becoming mothballed or otherwise inoperable.[6] However its domestic defense industry Ukroboronprom and its Antonov subsidiary are able to maintain its older aircraft. The Ukrainian Air Force participated in the war in Donbas. Following the 2014 ceasefire, the air force was suspended from carrying out missions in the areas of Donbas. Since February 2022, the Air Force has been engaged in constant combat operations in the face of the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. The role of the Air Force is to protect the air space of Ukraine. The objectives are: obtaining operational air superiority, delivering air strikes against enemy units and facilities, covering troops against enemy air strikes, providing air support to Ukrainian Ground Forces and the Navy, disrupting enemy military and government, disrupting enemy communications, and providing air support by reconnaissance, airdrops, and troops and cargo transportation. In peace-time, this is carried out by flying air-space control missions over the entire territory of Ukraine (603,700 square km), and by preventing air space intrusion along the aerial borders (totaling almost 7,000 km, including 5,600 km of land and 1,400 km of sea). Over 2,200 service personnel and civilian employees of the Air Force, employing 400 items of weapons and equipment, are summoned daily to perform defense duties. On average, the Ukrainian radar forces detect and track more than 1,000 targets daily. As a result, in 2006 two illegal crossings of the state border were prevented and 28 violations of Ukrainian air space were prevented. Due to such increased strengthening of air space control, the number of air space violations decreased by 35% compared to the previous year, even though the amount of air traffic increased by 30%. 8-24-2023: The Defense Department will begin training Ukrainians to fly and maintain F-16 fighter jets in the coming months, Pentagon Press Secretary Air Force Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder said today. The training is expected to begin in October at the Morris Air National Guard Base in Tucson, Arizona, and will be facilitated by the Air National Guard's 162nd Wing. The U.S.-led training is "in support of the international effort to develop and strengthen Ukraine's long-term defenses," Ryder said. The Netherlands and Denmark have announced their intentions to make F-16 aircraft from their fleets available to Ukraine. Secretary of State Antony Blinken signaled the United States' willingness to approve the third-party transfer of the U.S.-made F-16s to Ukraine in a letter to his European counterparts last week. After months of deliberation over supplying advanced fighter aircraft to Ukraine, Denmark and the Netherlands jointly agreed earlier this week to send Ukraine F-16 fighter jets after the United States signaled it would support the transfer. The timeline for Ukraine receiving these supersonic jets is predicated on Ukrainian pilots and ground crew completing training on the aircraft as well as the establishment of maintenance facilities to handle repairs, both of which do not appear likely in the near future. Additionally, the number of F-16s the Dutch and the Danes can send to Ukraine will depend on how many jets in their arsenals are in working order and how soon they receive F-35 joint strike fighters from the United States, which will enable them to retire their F-16s. Following the news from Europe, the US Department of Defense on Thursday announced that it would begin a training program in Arizona in October. These efforts will build on those of European countries looking to help train Ukrainian pilots in Denmark and Romania. Estimates of how long the training will take vary from just over a month to more than a year, and the integration of F-16s into Ukraine’s fighting force will take time, but even after their delivery, a critical question remains: What do these jets mean for Ukraine’s efforts to defend itself against Russian aggression? The delivery of F-16s will provide Ukraine with greatly increased capabilities in the air domain and may also have other indirect military and political benefits. However, the addition of these aircraft alone is unlikely to have a decisive strategic effect on the course of the conflict given the operational challenges Ukraine faces. Analysts such as Frank Hoffman and Maximillian Bremer and Kelly Grieco have discussed ways in which the war has challenged assumptions related to the offense-defense balance. Indeed, the war has raised important questions about the long-held belief that it is easier to establish air dominance rather than air denial. The Russians have learned this first-hand as the multi-layered air defense systems Ukraine now operates, including surface-to-air-missiles, have effectively denied air superiority to the Russian Air Force. In this context, where air defense is the name of the game, the operational impact of F-16s may be limited. Private military company Draken International, which trains pilots for the US Air Force, has begun hiring instructors with flight experience on F-16 fighters in Romania. This is probably related to the training of Ukrainian pilots. This is reported by Militarnyi. In job offers on the Draken International website, the deployment base is indicated as the 86th airbase of the Romanian Air Force near the city of Borča, 130 km east of Bucharest. This is the base of the 53rd fighter squadron of the Romanian Air Force “Warhawks”, which is armed with F-16 fighters. It is here that they plan to deploy a center for the training of Ukrainian military pilots and technicians. Among the specified vacancies: instructor pilots, heads of aircraft maintenance crews; maintenance planners and supervisors; avionics and electrical engineering. Minimum experience for all positions – 5 years of work with the F-16. For pilots, 2,000+ hours of flight time in the F-16, with a minimum of 500+ hours as an instructor. The duration of the job offer is from 3 to 19 months, so the training of Ukrainian pilots and technicians will take approximately this time. It is likely that the technicians will be trained in a shorter time frame. Draken International is an American private military company that trains aircraft pilots and acts as a hypothetical adversary during exercises, complementing the well-known Aggressor squadron. Draken International owns the world’s largest private fleet of combat aircraft (more than 130 aircraft), consisting of A-4 Skyhawks and Aero L-159 ALCA combat aircraft, Dassault Mirage F1, MiG-21bis, Atlas Cheetah and F-16 Fighting Falcons.Other items in other pictures are for your reference only, available in my eBay Store.
