Description: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Visor Hat of a Commissioned Officer of the State Security (SBU) of Ukraine.This is a GUARANTEED 100% ORIGINAL visor hat of Ukrainian SBU, NOT a replica or souvenir. The hat is very similar in style to hats of the late Soviet era and was made in 2008. The crown is in very dark grey gabardine fabric. The piping and band are in napped wool material of royal blue color, same as on Soviet KGB hats. The chin cord is in twisted gold thread (unlike the Soviet-era metallic filigree). The hat badge is officer style, in aluminum and paint, showing the Ukrainian national emblem of Trident ed on a sky-blue background. The side buttons also show the Ukrainian trident emblem. The visor is in patent leather with a felt underside, same as those on the late Soviet-era hats of general officers. The sweat band and sweat diamond are in soft ersatz leather. The liner has a sewn-in cloth tag with the manufacturer’s information (Gorlitsa Headgear Factory in Kiev) and a 2008 date of manufacture. There is also a size 56 stamped near the sweat diamond, which corresponds with the US size 7 / MEDIUM. The liner also has a numeral 63 painted in white, probably some sort of inventory number. The hat is in GREAT CONDITION, apparently never worn and showing only storage age. There are no moth bites or soiling, both the interior and exterior are very clean. The hat has kept its shape nicely, not squished in storage or transit as is often the case. An interesting and attractive piece to add to a military or law enforcement collection.
