Description: I have tried to identify the maker of this doll with no luck. She was made in the early era of Lenci dolls but her head is covered with a stockinette type fabric and she has a cloth body. I purchased her back in 2010 and have held onto her because I adore her entire look! She possibly could be a Venus or Poir doll, but there were other makers as well that competed with Lenci. I do believe she is a French Doll. She is approx. 15 1/2" tall. She has a swivel head with brightly painted facial features. Side glancing brown eyes with long upper eyelashes and brownish red eye shadow. Closed mouth. There is dust that has settled on her face but she still is gorgeous! Her blonde mohair original wig has wear to the right side of her head, see pictures. Cloth body with jointed arms and legs. Her hands have separate thumbs, little finger and index finger with just the two middle fingers joined. As you can see in her pictures, she is wearing the most adorable 1920s style original clothing! Ruffled pink organdy surrounds her skirt that resemble flowers. Her bodice top also has the ruffled organdy at the top. Matching cap on her head. Black stockings and black felt shoes with the original organdy ties. I did not remove her clothing as I do not want to damage it. Truly a unique cloth doll of the era that I have enjoyed for many years!
