HERE I created these stands to help solve the issue of tire damage when models are stored or on display for long periods of time, but maybe useful for other projects. These simple stands are laser cut from 1/4” Purebond Maple plywood, easy to assemble, and can by left as is or finished in a variety of ways. These are made to order so please allow 2-3 days processing time. Estimating Measurements Measure the width of two potential points of contact. For the height, measure from a flat surface to the estimated point of contact and add the amount of desired lift. Take into consideration possible suspension drop when the model is lifted. Stand Height (approximate) 4”/100mm - top 20mm wide 3”/76mm - top 20mm wide 2.5”/64mm - top 18mm wide 2”/50mm - top 16mm wide Stand width (approximate) 6” - 151mm outer / 141mm inner 5” - 126mm outer / 116mm inner 4” - 100mm outer / 90mm inner 3” - 76mm outer / 66mm inner 2” - 50mm outer / 40mm inner Slider - bars are 7” wide and can be cut to desired width* _________________________________________________ Assembly A quality gel super glue or wood glue may or may not be needed - I try to intentionally make these a tight fit but can’t guarantee the tolerances due to variations in the wood and humidity. If the pieces won’t fit together • A little sanding is your best bet. • Try inserting the piece through the other side. The hole will be slightly larger on the side where the laser penetrated first. • You can try tapping the pieces together using a hammer and a flat surface but do not apply heavy pressure outside of the tabbed areas. If the pieces are too loose • Add a bit of tape to thicken the tab, add glue, slide the pieces on, then trim off the excess tape with a razor blade. • It is important to add glue to the inside edges, not just the tabs. Paint/Finishing It’s best to assemble the stands before finishing to avoid any fitment issues. Almost any type of finish can be used, but a stain blocking primer is required to cover the “burned” edges or they may bleed through paint. *Some basic skills may be required to get the best fit including sanding, gluing, cutting. I try to intentionally make these a tight fit but can’t guarantee the tolerances due to variations in the wood and humidity. _________________________________________________ Optional Add-On Kits (Check my other listings to find these) Kits will offset the overall width of the stands by 10mm (except the Stacker) depending on inner/outer placement. All kits work with all universal stands as well as each other. Hole alignment and screw size are the same for all.
