Description: This is a very unusual and charming early to mid 19th century bar brooch. It features a hand painted scene on enamel of a girl with what appears to be a butterfly in her hand and a small cage at her side. It measures 2.75 inches long and .5 inches wide. The setting test for 800 silver and has an old gold wash. The pin back appears to be a replacement, but it works fine and the setting and the enamel are in excellent condition.
