Description: This piece was created by trunk maker Robert Burr (1804-1853) who was a prominent trunk maker somewhere between 1825 and 1853. This small piece appears to be a salesman sample but could have been used for document storage. Trunk is animal hide covered wood with leather trim attached with brass tacks and brass handle. Lock appears to be wrought iron and has the original key. The paper lining and maker label inside are all original. Measures approx. 6.5" tall x 8" x 12". Great piece! Wear and minor losses as seen in the photos. Email any day (see email address above---I normally check email several times each day) for any questions you may have. A word about condition.
