He created many first day covers of US issues, involving many topics but all the more scarce as they were made on his FREE FRANK envelopes that were supposed to be used for OFFICIAL GOVERNMENT BUSINESS! These makeshift FDCs were often given to local constituents and visitors to his office in Washington D.C.
