Description: Collection grade natural fluorescent Sodalite var Hackmanite showing bright orange glow under UV light (258ct). Hackmanite demonstrates both luminescence under UV light and tenebrescence (ability to change colour after illumination with UV light). When left in dark or indoors for prolonged duration (days to weeks) the purple colour will fade! However, it is very easy to restore deep purple colour by exposing the specimen to UV light, or even bright sunlight outside, meaning the colour change is reversible. Using UV light of different wavelengths will produce luminescence of different colours, especially comparing short wave UV (255nm) with long wave UV (365-395nm).
