Of course, the stereotypical French disco-house is well represented by unknown acts like Shazz and Dax Riders, while more accomplished names such as Sebastien Leger and Kiko present a more timely electro-house sound. World music staple Frederic Galliano contributes a selection of his much-lauded African-house fusion, while recent attention grabbers Télépopmusik sound like a more synth pop version of French superstar St. Germain. Probably the most interesting slice is Rubin Steiner's "Wunderland," which mashes distinctly continental chamber strings with a collage of swinging jazz drums. The production quality varies from track to track, with some of it sounding rough and amateurish compared to the more seasoned artists.
