VELVET UNDERGROUND & NICO LP EAST COAST VERVE 1967 STEREO 3RD STATE RECORD VG++

Description: This is an ORIGINAL 1967 VERVE RECORDS U.S. THIRD STATE EAST COAST PRESS STEREO LP titled 'The Velvet Underground And Nico', the legendary and historic groundbreaking landmark album that is commonly recognized as the first alternative rock LP. It is Verve Records U.S. catalog number V6-5008, gatefold cover with the third state airbrushed back cover photo. Record comes packaged inside the gatefold cover in its original crisp condition Verve Records stock inner sleeve with pictures of other Verve Records recording artists and partial listings of their catalogs. This album is probably in the upper one-third of the condition range in which original copies of this title are normally seen today - Condition of record is a real nice high VG++ with just a few light surface marks which cannot be felt and will not affect play. Solely in the interest of full disclosure record also has an extremely slight and almost nonexistant slow warp which will also not affect play. The peelable banana on the front cover has seen an attempt to peel it that has left it torn in the upper stem area and with a vertical tear in the top 2" of the body of the peel; apparently the top stem of the banana peel was torn off at the time and replaced in its correct location. All but the bottom 2" of the peel over the body of the banana have wrinkles probably indicating that the banana was partially peeled to that point and thereafter the peel was pressed back onto the cover and re-affixed. Front gatefold has a 2" split in its right hand edge, cover otherwise has no splits in either gatefold and spine is fully intact. Cover otherwise has a little scattered age discoloration, a very tiny 'X' in red ballpoint at the top right corner of the back cover, a very few very light and small stains, some contact wear, and some wear along the edges and on the corners. Verve Records stock inner sleeve is in really nice crisp condition with no splits, tears, or wrinkles. Vintage original 1967 copies of this LP are highly sought after 'holy grail' class collectables here in 2024, and this copy is in better overall condition than most copies that are seen today - It would be a prized addition to any rock record collection! $5.50 SHIPPING via USPS Media Mail, I will insure the package at my expense.
