Description: Salt figurines were "sort of popular" in the 50's...and all that I have seen have been made in Italy. They are different than alabaster figurines, more opaque....and, of course, dissolve in water. I don't know if they were carved out of a block of salt or made from a salt clay. The figurine of sitting boy is almost 6.5" tall , 3.5" wide and 3" deep. Some painted lines have small gaps and we do not know if it's an idea of the Master or they . simply, faded in some spots.It is a vintage item in good condition.
