Description: This appears to be a very rare A.J. Kasper Company coffee tin. The company was located in Chicago, Illinois, and operated starting in the early twentieth century. The can probably had a paper label attached around it which identified what type of coffee was inside, but that is long gone. One can still see the marks where the label attached and which residue protected those spots from aging. The top of the can is embossed with the following words "KASPER MARK COFFEE TRADE" and in the center of the lid are embossed the letters "AJKO" surrounded by the letter "C". The can stands 6" tall and is 4 1/8" in diameter. The lid comes off and fits very well. The inside is less aged than the exterior. The outside of the can has some wear marks and slight dings. Otherwise it is in very good condition. I have looked all over for a similar item (you can find a lot of "Kasper's Coffee" cans, but cannot find one that matches this version). This is a very rare piece and would make a great addition to any tin can collection. Buyer may have to pay sales tax depending on location.
